About The Position

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services is seeking to fill the position of Senior Psychiatric Social Worker within the Adult Single Point of Access (SPOA) unit in Hauppauge. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: At the time of appointment and during employment in this title, candidates must possess a Certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the New York State Department of Education. At the time of appointment, and during employment in this title, employees will be required to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State. PROMOTIONAL Two (2) years of permanent competitive status as a Psychiatric Social Worker or Psychiatric Social Worker-Alcoholism. Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), at least one (1) year of which must have been paid supervisory experience in a psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Assisted Outpatient (AOT) Removal orders – coordinate with Police and CPEP
  • Monitoring of AOT/Enhanced Voluntary Agreement (EVA) caseload, follow up on clinical concerns as needed/informed by staff
  • Provide Kendra’s Law Trainings for Hospitals and outside agencies as needed
  • Attend Case Conferences for AOT/EVA clients as needed
  • Conduct AOT/EVA investigations
  • Attend meetings including, but not limited to: ASPOA staff meeting, quarterly Systems of care meeting, Clinical Review Panel, AOT investigation meeting
  • Supervise case management staff
  • Manage and oversee staff completion of required trainings, as needed
  • Attend Kendra hearings, complete AOT petitions, as needed
  • Oversee AOT/EVA Statistical Reports
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
