We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to support our metal fabrication manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, goods, and services required to support production. The position plays a critical role in ensuring material availability, cost control, and supplier performance - directly impacting production schedules and customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
  • Have a global perspective on sourcing and a mindset focused on maximizing cost-effectiveness through continuous improvement
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Highly collaborative with a strong, team-oriented mindset
  • Experience working in an ERP/MRP system
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Mandarin/English is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Purchase raw materials, goods, and services in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete
  • Coordinate with operations and planning teams to maintain appropriate inventory levels and support production schedules
  • Evaluate vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and past performance
  • Negotiate pricing, volume discounts, and favorable payment terms
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and quality standards
  • Resolve supply chain issues to minimize production disruptions
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state procurement regulations, industry standards, and ethical sourcing practices
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data within the ERP/MRP system
  • Work closely with production, finance and logistics teams to align procurement activities with production schedules, budget and inventory optimization targets
  • Other duties as assigned
