Backend Python - Senior Python Developer
About The Position
Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles. Advises immediate management on project-level issues Guides junior engineers Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years building production backend systems in Python. Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale in high-traffic environments. Experience building or supporting feed-based, timeline, or content-driven systems at scale (e.g., social feeds, activity streams, discovery surfaces, or recommendation-driven experiences). Strong AWS experience, including infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CDK) and managed services. Experience building and evolving RESTful and GraphQL APIs for mobile and web clients. Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance tradeoffs. Experience implementing observability best practices (logging, metrics, alerting, incident response) Strong testing mindset (unit, integration, performance testing for production readiness) Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms like Kafka. Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Passion for building reliable systems, continuous learning, and collaborative engineering culture.
Requirements
