About The Position

CGI has an immediate need for a Senior QA Tester to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years! This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable. We are seeking a seasoned QA Tester to lead testing efforts across complex, enterprise-level initiatives. This role is responsible for validating requirements, defining comprehensive test strategies, and ensuring full coverage across functional, integration, and backend systems. As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, and Scrum teams to drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle. In addition to hands-on testing responsibilities, this role provides leadership in defect management, automation strategy, and QA best practices. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments, and a proven ability to lead testing initiatives for large-scale, cloud-based solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in functional, integration, SOA/Web Services, DW/ETL, and Java backend testing
  • Strong background working within Agile (Scrum/Sprint) and traditional Waterfall delivery models
  • Hands-on experience with QA management tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, Rally, or similar platforms
  • Solid SQL skills (Oracle) and comfort working in Unix and Windows environments
  • Experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks, including ATDD/BDD and Gherkin-based scenarios
  • Familiarity with API testing tools and automation frameworks
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps-integrated QA practices
  • Experience testing cloud-based applications and platforms
  • Exposure to Anaplan, including model validation, data testing, and connected planning workflows
  • Strong defect lifecycle management and triage experience
  • Proven ability to lead QA efforts on complex, multi-system projects
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor team members and influence quality standards
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
