About The Position

Gemtron Corporation is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Technician to support and strengthen our quality systems, customer satisfaction, and supplier performance. This role is responsible for managing quality-related issues, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with customer, supplier, and internal requirements.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods (Six Sigma or similar).
  • Ability to perform and interpret FMEA, FPA, and PPAP activities.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, quality statistics, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present technical and quality information to upper management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, goals, and deadlines.
  • High School Diploma required
  • English fluency required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality assurance or manufacturing quality role.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain methods for part and product disposition.
  • Provide quality and technical support to customers, including participation in FMEA, PPAP, FPA, and Gage R&R processes.
  • Assist with resolution of customer and supplier inquiries and complaints.
  • Initiate and manage 8D corrective actions for customer or internal nonconformances; lead cross-functional teams to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical clarification of product specifications and Critical to Quality (CTQ) characteristics.
  • Use and audit corrective action systems for effectiveness.
  • Identify, develop, implement, and monitor supplier continuous improvement projects.
  • Receive, process, securely store, and retain quality records, including statistical data, charts, metrology results, and return/disposition documentation.
  • Review quality documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain and report supplier PPM (Parts Per Million) performance metrics.
  • Inspect, evaluate, and disposition returned and non-conforming materials.
  • Track and monitor non-conforming material trends using existing software tools.
  • Support integration of non-conformance data into the company’s quality data systems.
  • Read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and blueprints to production and supplier inspection processes.
  • Utilize a variety of measuring equipment to identify potential nonconformities and initiate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Apply statistical methods to monitor, analyze, and predict product non-conformance.
  • Advise production teams and management on technical quality matters during manufacturing.
  • Conduct measurement system analysis (MSA) and process capability studies as required.
  • Measure complex glass and metal components using portable CMM or 2D/3D scanning equipment (e.g., Romer Arm).
  • Verify calibration status of machines, gauges, and scales.
  • Perform minor repairs or coordinate corrective action when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
