About The Position

The Senior Engineer, Quality Engineering will be a technical focal for all facets of the Quality Engineering discipline for Fort Worth Military Landing Gear. You will have the opportunity to effectively collaborate and partner with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, and Customers, to ensure functional and business objectives are met. This position plays a critical role in monitoring quality metrics to drive continuous improvement, identifying and contributing to numerous initiatives/projects to address complex problems, overseeing rapid problem resolution, and ensuring overall effectiveness of stringent Quality and compliance standards. This position will work onsite at our Haltom City, TX facility. This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Experience with participating root cause corrective action (RCCA) and applying quality methodologies and tools.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience with data mining and analysis of large datasets.
  • Experience participating in cross-functional projects and reporting Quality KPIs.

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • Proficiency in Excel, SAP, Solumina MES, and Tableau.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Experience as a Data Analyst or similar role
  • Experience in data management and manipulation, including advanced SQL.
  • Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Power Applications).

Responsibilities

  • Support the transformation of Military Landing Gear Quality by applying strong knowledge of Quality Engineering principles.
  • Contribute to Quality Engineering activities across the assembly lifecycle, from design through delivery.
  • Independently manage assigned tasks or projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality objectives are met.
  • Apply Continuous Improvement and CORE methodologies to identify and resolve issues in manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Investigate and support resolution of quality issues, including customer escapes, audit findings, and internal defects. Assist in implementing Corrective Action Plans.
  • Participate in Root Cause Corrective and Preventive Action (RCCA/CAPA) processes. Support cross-functional teams in problem resolution and follow-up verification.
  • Use Root Cause Analysis tools to investigate and resolve moderate complexity issues; assist in implementing mistake-proofing solutions.
  • Assist in identifying improvement opportunities in quality processes, documentation, or inspection methods.
  • Provide guidance on quality standards, specifications, and procedures within assigned scope.
  • Review and provide input on engineering and manufacturing changes impacting quality.
  • Maintain and improve quality documentation such as inspection plans, control plans, and work instructions to ensure alignment with engineering and production needs.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on quality metrics (e.g., SRR, escapes, nonconformances) to support problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the planning and execution of product/process audits and follow-up actions, including corrective action verification.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and Program Management Teams (PMTs) to ensure quality is maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps, or Qlik Sense to present key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics.
  • Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, root causes of quality issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and deliver leadership-level reports and visuals to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and help address key defect drivers to improve product and process quality.
  • Foster a culture of proactive problem solving and risk awareness within the work area.
  • Interact with customer quality representatives and DCMA as needed to support audits and inspections.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant standards, tools, and best practices in quality engineering.
  • May provide guidance or mentorship to early-career engineers or technicians.
