About The Position

RFA Engineering ( www.rfamec.com ) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility. This is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization Senior Quality Engineer RFA Engineering is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support manufacturing quality readiness and process development for capital equipment and production programs. This role focuses on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), risk mitigation, and the development of robust manufacturing processes. The position works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure production systems meet performance, reliability, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 8–10 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of APQP processes and documentation
  • Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow documentation
  • Understanding of process capability studies and measurement systems analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and collaboration tools (e.g. Teams)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead cross-functional meetings and manage multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-volume or automotive-style manufacturing environments
  • Experience with metrology, CMM, or validation testing processes
  • Background supporting capital equipment or production line launches

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and develop APQP deliverables including:
  • Process Flow Diagrams
  • Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs)
  • Control Plans
  • Support and track corrective actions identified through PFMEAs and other risk assessments.
  • Lead APQP readiness and quality planning meetings with cross-functional manufacturing and engineering teams.
  • Develop and review process capability studies and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA).
  • Create and maintain Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
  • Establish and help maintain quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
  • Review sampling procedures, inspection methods, and testing plans to ensure product integrity and reliability.
  • Support evaluation of production and measurement equipment accuracy and precision.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare formal documentation and present quality readiness updates to stakeholders.
