Requirements

  • Must have Bachelor’s in Engineering, Operations, Business Mgmt or related field; 5 years relevant manufacturing experience with background in quality or engineering; and required skills.
  • Requires skills (5 years) in: preventive quality engineering techniques incl PFMEA, SWOT analysis, root cause/failure analysis, and 8Ds; Lean manufacturing practices incl A3, fishbone diagrams, and Kaizens
  • Microsoft Office
  • Minitab.

Responsibilities

  • Using process approach, eval existing practices & conduct gap analyses against international quality system standards & existing procedures; develop & propose modifications to close gaps.
  • Analyze & interpret product data using appropriate tools for improvement in capability, reliability & compliance.
  • Assess impact of changes using quantitative & qualitative tools.
  • Validate process & product changes to ensure desired results are achieved & sustainable.
  • Facilitate/participate in improvement teams to resolve repetitive/complex problems.
  • Assess measurement systems to ensure reliable process & product measurement data; develop/propose modifications.
  • Train process owners for system changes & conduct audits at appropriate intervals to ensure implementation & sustainability.
  • Develop/revise documentation according to best practices & company approach.
  • Execute internal audits & assist w/ preparations for external customer or third-party certification audits.
  • Deliver SPC improvements & become subject matter expert in Infinity QS SPC software.
  • Interact w/ production floor & mgmt to determine root cause analysis for quality defects & develop resolutions to correct deficiencies.
  • Communicate & investigate customer inquiries relating to quality.
  • Work w/ Operations team to find solutions to customer complaints focusing on permanent corrective action.
  • Review, measure, & proactively study KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to prevent substandard product not meeting customer specs.
  • Little regional travel to clients or suppliers.
  • Travel not to exceed 60 days/year or 2 days in a single trip.
