About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Test Engineer. The position will be based at our facility in El Paso, Texas. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Eaton’s PDCA Power Distribution Control Assembly division in El Paso is currently seeking a Quality-Test engineer who is responsible for product and test processes. Leads the team of quality inspection and test technicians to achieve test and quality requirements for customer specifics. Provides systems integration, work with customer center for customers technical requirements implementation, work with engineering in the areas of system design, programming, installation, maintenance, testing, training and modification of automated control systems and power management systems. Provides quality functional support to customers, suppliers, and other functional departments of the organization. Identifies and leads preventative / corrective improvement projects using quality systems, tools, and processes to achieve performance improvement goals. Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) - Program Human Machine interfaces (HMI’s) - Design and implement power system control schemes including switchgear transfer control, load management control, generator control, microgrid control, and SCADA system development. – Lead in testing, programming, and troubleshooting of Low Voltage Assemblies automation control systems. What you’ll do: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Specify, design, build, debug, validate and deploy the computer-automated test systems and processes to be used in manufacturing and subcontractor facilities. • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure design for test concepts are incorporated during the development phase. • Lead, Develop and support the testing technician team under supervision to fully deploy a sustainable testing program for all manufactured products in the operation, ensuring compliance with MESH requirements regarding Life Saving Rules and Electrical Safety Programs and focus on quality of product and testing conformance. • Be the Site Responsible Person (SRP) for the Electrical Safety Program to ensure compliance to MESH policies and drive continuous improvements to eliminate and reduce Electrical Safety hazards within the site. • Design and implement power system control schemes including switchgear transfer control, load management control, generator control, microgrid control, and SCADA system development. – Lead in testing, programming, and troubleshooting of Low Voltage Assemblies automation control systems. • Develop functional test equipment and procedures, and sub-assembly functional test equipment and procedures. • Conduct fault insertion and analysis to determine the equipment's test comprehensiveness and make contribute to Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)and trouble-shooting procedures. • Implement statistical process control on the recorded test data. Collects data from the test fixtures and makes the test data available to the Quality team for analysis, and to other team members as required to meet project success factors. • Develop final-assembly functional test equipment and procedures for global deployment, as well as functional test equipment for external suppliers and value-adding partners. • Initiate and manage capital projects for test equipment, test facility enhancements and new product start-ups. • Implement Engineering Changes to enhance product quality (update test equipment, software, and hardware changes). • Reduce cycle time and cost by applying “Lean Manufacturing” techniques. • Drive continuous improvement for all test processes; Develop and implement test strategies to ensure product specifications are achieved throughout production. • Lead and deploy customer witness testing process in the plant to inspect, test and release products with customer and receive product release authorization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality experience in electrical industry or manufacturing

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols and methods including TCP/IP, CANBUS, Serial, I2C, and JTAG
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code Safety Requirements
  • Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001 etc.)
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Technical understanding of product and end user application/specifications, including product testing requirements
  • Knowledge of C#, Visual Basic and LabView, SQL, Access, Active Server Pages, Test stand, REST, and Python is desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
