About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Senior Resident Engineer/Construction Manager for our Denver, Colorado office. Other locations include Boulder, Colorado Springs and Lakewood. Be involved in projects with our CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges Your Impact Pre-construction phase: Conduct constructability reviews of design documents Provide cost estimating and budget development Help with bid package preparation and contractor selection Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants Scheduling and coordinating Pre-construction and Partnering meetings Construction phase: Monitor project progress against schedule and budget Identify and manage potential risks Review change orders and recommend approvals Oversee quality control and safety compliance Reviews project activities with client and contractor’s field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues Oversees materials testing activities Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation Facilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings Analyze project data to identify cost-saving opportunities Provide recommendations for project adjustments as needed Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Who You Are

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of CO or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant construction experience
  • A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents
  • Deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
  • Experience working on city, county and or state construction projects
  • CDOT construction experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Highways; Rail; Aviation; Water; Mining
