JOB SUMMARY LIVIC Civil is looking to fill a full-time position for Senior Roadway Designer. This role leads roadway plan production and supports the technical delivery of transportation projects from concept through final design. This role mentors designers, coordinates multi-discipline inputs into a complete plan set, and helps ensure deliverables meet agency standards, quality expectations, and project schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Civil Engineering Technology (or related)
  • 4-8+ years of roadway/transportation design and plan production experience
  • Strong proficiency with CIVIL 3D and OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
  • Working knowledge of DOT/municipal standards and PS&E deliverables
  • Strong communication and ability to lead/mentor production staff
  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered (including an Associate degree with additional relevant experience).

Responsibilities

  • Lead a project team to complete design and analysis, providing technical guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Lead plan production for roadway/intersection projects using Civil 3D and/or Open Roads Designer (ORD).
  • Mentor and guide designers; coordinate workload and provide technical direction.
  • Coordinate plan set development across disciplines and support schedule adherence.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews and support resolution of design comments.
  • Support development of quantities, estimates, exhibits, and technical documentation.
  • Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents as necessary.
  • Perform research.
  • Design and develop roadway projects, including plan preparation, specifications, construction estimates and construction schedules.
  • Design computations , plan designs, and drawings.
  • Prepare and review design computations, plan designs, and drawings.
  • Prepare project estimates, budgets, schedules and execution of plans.
  • Prepare and review specifications, draft letters, and written technical reports.
  • Coordinate with peers and project managers regarding project progress.
