Our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solution is a unique blend of human expertise and security, which protects organizations from modern adversaries as their teams work remotely, move to the cloud, and they adopt new cybersecurity and IT technologies. Role We are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our Sales Engineering team in Denver, Colorado or San Francisco, California, reporting to the Senior Manager, Sales Engineering. You understand that while prospective customers share many characteristics, each is unique and requires a carefully constructed solution to help them achieve their specific security goals. You will discern where a customer is on their security maturity journey and assess whether the Red Canary solution fits into their current project plans and organizational needs.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of sales engineering experience
  • Knowledge of the security industry, including competitors, market needs, and trends
  • Strong technical knowledge of networking, identity, cloud, and endpoint security

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, SANS GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), CEH, CSSP, or Security+
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux command-line, system configuration, troubleshooting, and scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Ruby
  • Practical knowledge of enterprise EDR solutions, metadata analysis, and proactive threat hunting through large endpoint datasets

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for the customer and ensure they are always heard, understood, and supported
  • Create and deliver custom presentations that capture the problems, solutions, and overall progress throughout the proof-of-concept journey
  • Facilitate interactive, informative, and tailored proof-of-concepts
  • Demonstrate a firm understanding of primary security tenets including confidentiality, integrity, availability, and role-based access control
  • Maintain a big-picture view of the solution, understanding both the technology and how the solution fits into the overall business problem that Red Canary is solving
