About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Scheduler to join our Project Controls team in Southern California. This position will be part of the WSP US Program Management National Practice, reporting to the Project Controls - West Functional Manager. Your Impact  Job Duties: This position is responsible for providing technical leadership, governance, and advanced scheduling expertise across complex capital programs and projects. This role serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for Oracle Primavera P6, development and/or implementation of scheduling standards, and project controls best practices. The position supports both project teams and executive leadership by ensuring schedule integrity, consistency, and alignment with cost, risk, and performance objectives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:   Develop and manage integrated master schedules for large, multi-stakeholder programs and projects.  Responsible for developing the project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), work packages, and project performance measures.   Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and reporting internal project performance, and/or contractor’s schedule performance. Develop the baseline project schedule to include detail Basis of Schedule documentation. Identify schedule activities, dependencies, and durations, that control the overall project and critical path. Conduct and/or review periodic CPM updates, provide Primavera schedule comparison reports and detail schedule reviews. Develop Earned Value analysis reports, critical path, look ahead, and resource requirements. Review and monitor variances from baseline, develop schedule recovery options, and coordinate timely and effective corrective actions to ensure alignment with project and schedule objectives.  Schedule Change Management to include review and analysis of project change orders.  Perform time impact analyses (TIA) to evaluate and determine the impacts of potential delays. Provide recommendations for schedule recovery, conduct recovery schedule reviews, and perform what-if scenario analysis. Assess and provide recommendations to resolve schedule, scope changes or delays to the Project Team and Executive Management.       Who You Are Minimum Requirements: 10+ years’ experience in developing and managing CPM project schedules in Primavera P6 or equivalent, with a proven track record in developing, updating and analyzing detailed execution schedules for large scale, complex, programs and projects. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline or equivalent professional experience. Extensive experience in construction schedule development and management.  Ability to anticipate, identify, and mitigate potential schedule issues and coordinate contingency and/or recovery plans across large, multi-stakeholder project teams. Advanced skills in Time Impact Analysis (TIAs), forensic analysis, and What-if-scenarios. Experience in Earned Value Management (EVM) and EVM reporting.  Extensive experience in Change Order Management, including merit reviews and time impact assessments. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinating across large client multi-stakeholder programs. Effective reporting and communication skills.   Preferred Qualifications  Master's degree and/or related project controls professional certification(s) Experience in developing and managing schedules through engineering, procurement, and construction phases, to include commissioning, turnover, and project closeout.
