The Senior Scientist Clinical Science & Evidence Generation, Chief Innovation Office (CIO) is a senior enterprise leader responsible for setting the vision and driving the execution of Danaher’s clinical science, evidence generation, and research innovation agenda. This role influences strategy across disease franchises—including neurodegenerative disease, oncology, and infectious disease & acute care (IDAC)—as well as enabling functions such as Value & Access, Data Science, and Medical & Scientific Affairs (MedSci). Position Purpose This leader will shape Danaher’s evidence generation and clinical innovation strategies, integrating scientific rigor with real-world data to ensure our diagnostic solutions deliver measurable impact on patients, providers, and health systems worldwide. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Lead evidence generation programs across the Chief Innovation Office (CIO), defining evidence needs and executing programs with internal and external stakeholders, advancing applications of real-world evidence. Translate evidence into high-impact scientific communications—including peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and white papers—to accelerate Danaher’s leadership across key disease franchises. Direct and contribute to AI- and data-intensive diagnostic research projects, from hypothesis generation and study execution to research publication, leveraging strategic partnerships and open innovation frameworks. Create and sustain Integrated Evidence Plans (IEPs) that define product profiles, evidence requirements, and strategic deliverables to ensure medical/clinical value drives decision-making and successful product launches. Contribute to a high-performing senior research team, establishing governance, KPIs, and capability-building frameworks, while serving as a core member of the Chief Medical Office (CMO) team to shape enterprise priorities and long-term strategy. The essential requirements of the job include: Advanced degree (MD or PhD) in biomedical sciences, engineering, or a related discipline. Demonstrated expertise in delivering research and evidence deliverables within industry or academia. Proven ability to guide multidisciplinary teams—including clinicians, technical experts, and data scientists—from data to actionable insights. Strong publication track record; ability to translate complex data into impactful scientific communications. Broad understanding of diagnostics and how they integrate with healthcare practice, with the ability to rapidly learn new scientific fields.
