About The Position

As the Senior SEC Financial Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting all aspects of the company’s external reporting requirements, including quarterly earnings press releases, annual report production, filing Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc. Additionally, you will assist in identifying accounting and reporting issues, researching and interpreting complex accounting issues, and the completion of various projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting
  • A minimum of three years work-related experience; banking/financial services experience in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Complete understanding of SEC Filings
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to function effectively within established deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Takes initiative for continuous improvement and drives efficiency
  • Strong technical skills in Excel; experience using Workiva is a plus
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical capabilities as well as effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of working independently
  • Ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as necessary

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred
  • Big Four or large regional public accounting experience serving SEC registrants preferred
  • experience using Workiva is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning, organization, preparation and review of the company’s SEC reporting activities, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and Earnings Release
  • Serves as a main point of contact for the preparation of SEC filings
  • Prepares, reviews and files Form 8-Ks and Form 4 filings on an as needed basis
  • Prepares and assists with month-end financial reports
  • Updates the financial package that supports the quarterly earnings press release
  • Coordinates with the company’s internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and the year-end audit
  • Review and assess Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) model outputs, assumptions, qualitative adjustments, and governance documentation for financial reporting purposes
  • Researches and makes recommendations on accounting pronouncements and disclosure requirements of all accounting standard setting bodies, including FASB, SEC, and PCAOB and evaluate the accounting and reporting impact of new standards
  • Reviews trends among other SEC filers to ensure the company’s disclosures are in line with industry practices and standards
  • Ensures that operational and design effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting are maintained to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Performs other duties as assigned
