Senior Security Engineer

IntusCare

About The Position

IntusCare is the only end-to-end ecosystem built specifically to help Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) programs deliver exceptional care, strengthen financial performance, and stay compliant. IntusCare replaces outdated technology and manual workarounds with purpose-built solutions for care coordination, risk adjustment, population health, and utilization management. We empower teams to take control of their operations and improve outcomes for dual-eligible seniors- some of the most socially vulnerable and clinically complex individuals in the US healthcare system. IntusCare is hiring a Senior Security Engineer to design and build critical cloud security infrastructure needed to lay the secure foundation of our HIPAA-compliant Azure environment. We’re scaling fast and looking for a hands‑on senior cloud security engineer to own our Azure guardrails and support our engineers as we grow our healthcare platform for PACE and elderly care nationwide. This is a senior IC role where you’ll design and build the foundations that keep our data, clinicians, and members safe.

Requirements

  • You have 4+ years of hands‑on experience with cloud security services and have at least moderate functional working knowledge with Azure constructs (Azure AD/Entra ID, Policies, Defender for Cloud, or Sentinel).
  • You have owned or designed cloud environments for security, with a clear opinion on how to design access control, vulnerability management, incident response, and cloud posture management.
  • You have written and maintained system hardening modules for automatically building security baselines and integrating them into CI/CD.
  • You are comfortable being the first/primary cloud security engineer in a startup: providing input into the roadmap, making trade‑offs, and implementing solutions directly in the system
  • You’ve used CSPM, MDR, and vulnerability management tools and can describe how you prioritized thousands of findings and maintained security SLAs for necessary response times to resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud security tools and code in our Azure environment
  • Define and enforce image baselines: logging/monitoring, encryption by default, network segmentation, public access controls, and IAM automation
  • Build and maintain shift left and automated security systems: SAST/DAST, SCA, CI/CD orchestration, and policy checks that make the secure path the default for engineering teams.
  • Lead security incident response process, planning, and activity, including daytime on-call rotation
  • Manage our monitoring, detection, and response systems and interventions
  • Ensure ongoing alignment with HIPAA, SOC2, and HITRUST requirements, including supporting annual audit cycles
  • Integrate and tune CSPM/SIEM tooling to prioritize and drive remediation at scale through PRs and automation, not just dashboards.
  • Working directly within architecture to analyze and, in many cases, fix issues identified in the cloud posture, access, and other domains.
  • Partner directly with platform and product teams on design reviews, PR reviews, and manual / automated security tests

Benefits

  • Mission‑driven work in elderly and chronic‑care populations, with long‑term government contracts and a profitable, growing business.
  • High impact: you will be the person who builds and evolves our cloud security foundation as we scale from dozens to hundreds of customers.
  • Fully remote in the US, reporting directly to the Director of Security & Compliance with strong executive support for security.
