About The Position

Performs Security Officer duties and provides supervision to staff to protect life and property against theft, vandalism, misappropriation, fire, flood, or similar disaster on assigned shift in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives. Pay: $23.20/hour plus an additional $5.09/hour (up to maximum of 40 hours per week) used to offset the cost of elected benefits Hours: Monday/Tuesday: 3pm-11:30pm, Wednesday/Thursday: 11pm-7:30am, Friday/Saturday off, Sunday: 7am-3:30pm Retirement Plan: Eligible to participate in company 401(k) with Company matching after 1 year Vacation: Minimum of ten days per year. Actual days are based upon your Service Date Sick Time: Accrued sick time at 1 hour per 30 hours worked, capped at 56 hours per year Holidays: 12 paid holidays per year Work Model: Onsite

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years related experience and/or training with an organized security department or experience with security duties.
  • Successfully pass any background check and/drug test required on the contract.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as supervisor of the department during assigned shift. Must be able to work all shifts which are day, prime and overnight.
  • Maintain schedules and monitor visitors and reception area.
  • Ensure the physical safety of buildings and property by checking doors, windows, lights, electrical appliances, equipment, locks, and emergency equipment. Maintain log of findings and corrective action taken.
  • Train security transportation officers in safety procedures.
  • Assist in reporting and suppressing fires, theft, and vandalism.
  • Assist staff and law enforcement personnel in controlling disturbances. Conduct preliminary investigation and submit accident reports.
  • Act as liaison with neighboring law enforcement and fire agencies when in charge.
  • Perform administrative paperwork, i.e., logs, control sheets, accident reports, and conduct investigations as directed.
  • Teach classes on safety topics such as first aid, CPR, driving, and commercial driving instruction/ examinations, when certified and/or qualified to do so.
  • Assure accountability of students, children, staff, and visitor check-in and check-out proceedings by supervising alarm station coverage.
  • Maintain vehicles for routine service, clean vehicles, check fluid levels. Perform routine vehicle equipment inspection daily, including lights, brakes, mirrors, steering, and other required operating equipment. Recommend mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to established schedules for CDL / DOT requirements/compliance.
  • Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
  • Transport students to and from Center. Perform accountability functions as assigned. Ensure proper student behavior and care of vehicles.
  • Cultivate and maintain a climate on Center, which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
  • Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.
  • Perform all other duties as requested.
