They will work with safety, quality and field supervision to ensure our skilled tradespeople are properly trained in their craft as well as in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, leadership and technology.  In addition, this role will provide oversight over skilled trades workforce, including resource management and growth strategy.  All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

  • Proficiency in required JE Dunn construction technology
  • Proficiency in scheduling software
  • Ability to apply Lean process and philosophy
  • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work
  • Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity
  • Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally
  • High School/GED or equivalent (Required)
  • 8+ Years construction experience (Required)
  • Valid and unrestricted drivers license required
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs
  • May require periods of travel

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered
  • 8+ Years experence in Information Technology/Security/Life Safety related systems (Preferred)
  • Experience with Lean principles (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff and needed.
  • Manage supply and demand of skilled trades workforce needs
  • Manage both internal and external plan for hiring skilled trades workforce
  • Development of skilled trades workforce- progression through certification and training criteria
  • Partner internally to help manage skilled trades sourcing strategies
  • Allocate hourly labor workforce to projects within office and support regional and national movement of workforce, utilizing internal tools
  • Work with Construction Supervision leadership to chart labor needs over a project duration and maintain communication to meet required labor needs
  • Visit job sites as needed and maintain relationships with project superintendents and project managers
  • Partner with field leadership to establish field staffing for their assigned project
  • Classify and organize skilled trades workforce by skill set and certifications held by the employee
  • Partner to ensure all scheduled training is in place or scheduled
  • Oversee the full life-cycle of employment.
  • Provide oversight of new employee orientations, explaining company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees, and/or job applicants for assigned area.
  • Assistance with proposal process, providing guidance for skilled trades resources.
  • Assist project teams and the Safety Department in investigating all recordable incidents and near-misses. Helps to identify root cause and retrains staff and needed.
  • Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn. Understands JE Dunn’s policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.
  • Develops and oversee plan for sourcing and hiring skilled trades workforce
  • Partners with regional and national self-perform to create, implement and update workforce training programs
  • Works with self-perform leadership to predict workforce needs in assigned areas
  • Assures the full life-cycle of the skilled trades workforce is being provided
  • Provides oversight of skilled trades workforce strategic direction including resource management strategy, development strategy, and growth strategy.
  • Provides oversight as the relationship executive at the regional level (base job team).
  • Provides oversight to ensure skilled trades workforce levels are sufficient, relative to current project schedules, anticipated completion dates and growth strategies. Review resource management plans as needed to ensure proper staffing levels and results.
