Position Summary Role Overview We are seeking a highly technical Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help expand our automation capabilities through server-side validation, internal tooling, and AI-assisted development workflows. This role focuses on designing and building scalable automation systems, developing internal tools, and improving the reliability and testability of backend services and distributed systems. The position will also maintain and expand the existing client automation framework used for game and mobile testing, which includes technologies such as Unity and Appium. While maintaining this framework remains an important responsibility, the primary focus of this position is building automation platforms and tools that improve engineering productivity and system quality across the organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a QA Engineer, SDET, or Software Engineer.
• Strong programming skills in C#, Python, or SQL.
• Experience building automation frameworks, test harnesses, or internal engineering tools.
• Experience testing web services, asynchronous systems, and databases.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with shipped games, titles, or live-service products.
• Experience with Unity-based applications (scenes, game objects, components).
• Experience with mobile automation using Appium on iOS and Android.
• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows — AI coding assistants, LLM-based test generation, MCP integrations, or similar.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, Aurora, or related infrastructure).
• Experience with performance or load testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and build server-side automation frameworks that validate backend services, APIs, and distributed systems — with the goal of catching regressions before they reach anyone else.
• Build automation infrastructure that engineers can self-serve: run tests, validate changes, and get feedback in CI/CD without waiting on QA.
• Expand coverage across web services, async processes, and databases to build the kind of regression safety net that makes large refactors possible.
• Own and evolve the client automation framework for mobile and game testing, including Unity scene/object interaction and Appium-based iOS/Android automation.
• Design and build internal tools and automation utilities that improve developer and QA workflows.
• Create tooling to simplify automation execution, debugging, diagnostics, and environment setup.
• Develop utilities for data generation, validation, system diagnostics, and automation orchestration.
• Integrate AI-assisted workflows into automation development and testing processes as it makes sense – not everything needs AI but it does help in a lot of use cases.
• Explore and implement solutions using MCPS, LLMs, automation agents, or similar tools to accelerate test generation, debugging, and system validation.
• Advocate in architecture discussions for the kind of testability and automation-readiness that lets the org move faster with confidence.
• Work closely with developers to ensure systems are designed with testability and automation in mind.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated validation systems.
