About The Position

The Developer Experience Platform team at Apple is looking for an extraordinary Python backend engineer with a robust understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI. This role involves designing and implementing core backend services and pipelines that integrate with various enterprise services, including LLMs, to enhance developer productivity tools. The position requires collaboration with Machine Learning engineers, Software engineers, and data scientists to deliver an end-to-end solution for the platform. The team is focused on creating a Generative AI-based Developer Experience Platform for internal use, assisting app development teams and ensuring the accuracy of LLM-based code generation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in building complex agentic systems using LLMs.
• Strong Python programming skills with experience in developing scalable services using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Experience in Machine Learning with emphasis on LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and Generative AI.
• 4+ years of industry experience focused on ML or software engineering.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Experience in technical leadership or mentorship in ML or software engineering.
• Familiarity with large language model frameworks for evaluating and fine-tuning models.
• Proven track record of building enterprise-grade ML pipelines in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience working on platform engineering or a developer experience platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support new and existing features for the Developer Experience Platform.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate complex interdependencies in application development.
• Design and implement backend services and pipelines integrating with enterprise services and LLMs.
• Collaborate with Machine Learning engineers and Software engineers to deliver comprehensive solutions.
