About the position

The Digital Workplace Sr. System Engineer is part of a global team that delivers innovative technology (hardware, software, and services) with a strong focus on user experience. The Digital Workplace Sr. System Engineer role within our Digital Workplace Experience team plays a key role in both the definition and delivery of the technologies that support end user computing services within AES. This spans device management systems, end user hardware and printers, which come together to provide a truly excellent user experience balanced with consistency, supportability, and data security. This role is responsible for endpoint configuration management including PCs, tablets, and phones. This position plays an active role in application deployment, client virtualization, development of processes and procedures, and printer management.

Responsibilities

  • Possess technical understanding of the suite of products used at AES to manage end user computing endpoints running Windows, macOS, iOS and Android operating systems.
  • Support the build, test, and deployment plans for the standard core software, SCCM OSD Image(s), application packaging, as well as the image creation process.
  • Responsible for the resolution of end user computing related incidents, requests, and changes, ensuring a high standard of execution and ownership.
  • In collaboration with other digital team members and our users, undertake investigations and diagnose performance and service-related issues, ensuring that key stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Follow standard end user computing administration and management processes and guidelines with a high degree of quality and reliability.
  • Work hand in hand with the AES Cyber Security teams to remediate client-side vulnerabilities, and troubleshoot device based conditional access policies for managed and unmanaged devices.
  • Responsible for desktop application deployment utilizing AES' suite of products such as Intune and SCCM.
  • Coordinate and complete application implementations and updates.
  • Provide tier 3 support for all services supported by Desktop System Engineering.
  • Automate and script manual installation and maintenance tasks to provide a streamlined user experience for AES employees.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for processes and procedures related to the deployment and management of applications and endpoint devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Information Technology / Computer Science/Engineering) preferred or equivalent with relevant work experience required.
  • 3+ years technical experience to include excellent working knowledge of: Image creation with Microsoft System Center Configuration, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Intune, Enterprise application packaging and deployment with Intune, SQL Reporting, PowerShell, and Graph API, Backend client virtualization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent working knowledge of all major manufacturing hardware.
  • Island Browser knowledge and/or experience is a plus.
  • Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand the larger company strategy.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, work multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet project deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work occasionally during off-hours and over the weekend.
  • Strong technical and ITIL service management background.
