About The Position

As a Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of managing and developing applications on a global scale, playing a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted movement of the Aviation industry. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the messaging data in transit and ensuring the timely arrival of you, your loved ones, and all passengers worldwide. The applications you will manage are the backbone of over 1,500 aviation customers, transmitting a staggering 75 million messages daily across the Aviation community. Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including planning, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications.
  • Experience with developing Java enterprise applications.
  • Excellent verbal skills.
  • Excellent documentation and writing skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JMS to create, send, receive, and read messages.
  • Experience with developing Java applications with JMS and Messaging COTs.
  • Experience with OSGi in installing and developing bundles.
  • Experience with developing Java applications using Agile Development Methodology.
  • Experience working in a Linux operating environment.
  • Technical domain knowledge in the Aviation community.

Responsibilities

  • You will design and develop critical features within our proprietary software to move millions of messages across the globe.
  • You will support refactoring our proprietary software to the next generation of the messaging platform.
  • You will support the rapid development of Big Data to manage billions of aviation data.
  • You will work closely with the Technical Lead, Architects, and other Software Engineers on a development team to support critical pursuits and opportunities to expand our aviation market.
