About The Position

This role offers the chance to build end-to-end consumer-facing experiences that help homeowners explore, evaluate, and adopt sustainable energy solutions. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions across the frontend, backend, and integrations. The position requires full ownership of your work, from initial scoping and implementation to testing and release, while balancing speed and technical rigor. You will contribute to experimentation, analytics, and operational tooling, helping to optimize the customer journey and support measurable business outcomes. Success in this role demands creative problem-solving, proactive collaboration, and a passion for building clean, maintainable code that drives real-world impact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping high-quality work.
  • Full-stack experience in JavaScript and strong proficiency in Python or Ruby.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks, preferably React.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL; familiarity with MongoDB is a plus.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of work end-to-end, from scoping through release.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with product managers, designers, and engineers.
  • Passion for solving complex problems and writing clean, maintainable code.
  • Proactive mindset, capable of proposing solutions, asking questions, and iterating quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL tools (Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt), or renewable energy/climate tech experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and improve the consumer-facing platform.
  • Build and deploy high-quality code across frontend and backend that enhances the solar buying experience.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to implementation, testing, and release.
  • Champion code quality through thoughtful reviews, automated testing, and scalable architecture.
  • Contribute to operational tooling, analytics, integrations, and infrastructure to maintain a healthy, measurable product funnel.
  • Deliver end-to-end solutions across multiple product areas while proposing process improvements and optimizations.
