As a Backend Engineer, you'll be part of a collaborative, high-impact team working to create scalable, reliable systems behind some of the most intuitive tools on the web. Whether you've been in the industry for three years or twenty, if you're passionate about designing elegant solutions— we want to hear from you. This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Engineering Team Manager. We're hiring across several impactful R&D teams. Based on your experience and interests, you could join one of the following: I dentity and Access Management (IAM) is responsible for building and maintaining the foundational systems that ensure secure access across the platform for both customers and internal teams. This includes managing core functionalities like authentication (login), authorization (permissions), and session management. Communications Platform provides tools and services that make communication between our product teams and customers effortless at scale. Our vision is to create platforms that are easy to use and impactful. Because our work is used by most product teams, this is a high-visibility, high-impact role.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in backend development using Java, Python, C, or similar languages
• Experience building large-scale, distributed systems
• Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Comfortable working in collaborative environments where feedback is valued
• A degree in Computer Science — or equivalent industry experience that speaks for itself

Responsibilities

• Build scalable backend services in Java and related technologies.
• Write clean, efficient code that powers high-traffic, production-ready systems.
• Contribute to design decisions and architectural discussions.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers.
• Create features from concept through implementation to launch.
