Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Pulumi SDKs across multiple programming languages with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Lead projects from prototyping through design, implementation, testing, and deployment, collaborating closely with engineers and customers.
  • Determine roadmaps and feature scopes through ongoing interaction with the team and open source community.
  • Provide thorough test coverage and clear documentation of design decisions.
  • Engage actively with the Pulumi community to gather feedback, create sample content, and foster enthusiasm around the platform.
  • Contribute to evolving the core cloud infrastructure deployment engine and distributed systems primitives.

Requirements

  • Strong experience designing APIs, SDKs, or developer tools across multiple programming languages such as Go, TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, Rust, Kotlin, Scala, Haskell, Ruby, F#, or Lisp.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Systematic problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and sound software architecture principles.
  • Passion for community-building and empowering users and contributors.
  • Solid understanding of compilers, graph algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
  • Experience developing and running services on platforms like Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with deployment orchestration and infrastructure-as-code tools.
