About The Position

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, including 5+ years in Java.
• Hands-on experience with Java frameworks and tools, including Spring (core/web/boot), Gradle, JUnit, and JVM optimization.
• Proven experience in risk engineering, rules engine architecture, and production risk/credit/fraud systems.
• Skilled in designing scalable architectures, REST APIs, message queues, and service-oriented systems.
• Experience with AWS services (EKS, Aurora RDS, Elasticache, DynamoDB) and containerization tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions), infrastructure as code (CDK/Terraform), and observability/monitoring tools like DataDog.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and mentorship abilities to support cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with big data platforms such as Snowflake, and exposure to experimentation frameworks and machine learning in risk contexts.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain high-scale APIs and distributed systems to support risk mitigation across the platform.
• Build and enhance the core rules engine, enabling dynamic decision-making for credit, fraud, and operational risk.
• Develop machine learning and data-driven solutions to detect, prevent, and respond to business risks.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to launch new features across web and mobile platforms.
• Ensure high system availability, scalability, and reliability using AWS, containerization, and observability best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and contribute to elevating team technical standards.
• Participate in designing experimentation and A/B testing frameworks to optimize risk policies and user experience.
