Senior Software Engineer, Routing

Responsibilities

• Build and scale backend systems and onboard modules for the Routing team.
• Design microservices and optimize routing algorithms.
• Understand road network graphs and build monitoring and analytics infrastructure.
• Optimize deployment pipeline.
• Work with product, strategy, and operations teams to design and build new user experiences.
• Define product strategy and roadmap.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience building and scaling realtime server-side applications.
• Experience with large-scale complex algorithm problems.
• Proficient in C++ programming.
• Experience with a wide range of databases including relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL), non-relational (BigTable, Cassandra, Redis), and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Familiarity with RPC frameworks (gRPC, Thrift) and pubsub systems (Kafka, Cloud PubSub, Celery).
• Extensive experience working with cloud providers (GCP, AWS).
• Experience with Docker & Kubernetes, or willingness to learn.
• Strong technical skills and a passion for learning new technologies.
• Ability to make tradeoffs between quick-and-dirty vs scalable approaches.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with PMs, UXRs, and other engineers.
• Impact-driven mindset focused on making a significant impact.
