In this role, you will: Collaboratively design and implement services and systems that sit directly in active engineering workflows Work through ambiguous requirements and make thoughtful architectural decisions Investigate and improve systems in production, improving reliability, performance, and overall engineering quality Success in this role requires strong technical judgment, comfort operating in production environments, and the ability to communicate clearly while collaborating closely with internal users, cross-functional partners, and engineering leaders across Apple.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience building backend services in one or more modern programming languages (Ruby, Python, Swift, etc.)
  • Recent hands-on experience writing, deploying and maintaining production code
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design and writing maintainable, testable code

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Kubernetes, continuous integration systems, Unix environments, and relational or NoSQL databases (or similar technologies)
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals including architecture and OO-design patterns and functional programming
  • Can create roadmaps and drive product vision by prioritizing excellent user experience
  • Passion for quality and attention to detail
  • Creative thinker and strong problem solver
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience leveraging LLM based tools for developing and testing code
