About The Position

Torch Technologies is seeking a Senior Software & System Safety Engineer provides technical leadership for system and software safety activities supporting DoW missile, aviation, and weapon systems. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with MIL-STD-882E (Change 1), conducting hazard and risk analyses, developing safety cases, and supporting system safety reviews for safety-critical embedded and real-time systems. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with missile or weapon platforms, software safety risk assessments (SSRA), and safety documentation for Army, Navy, and Missile Defense Agency programs. As a Senior Software & System Safety Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

Requirements

US Citizenship.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field. Relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
5+ years of experience in system safety and/or software safety engineering.
Experience producing and briefing safety documentation to Government stakeholders.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Experience leading safety efforts across multiple IPTs.

Responsibilities

Evaluate safety-critical software functions, failure modes, and errant missile risk.
Support Safety Review Boards, Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and executive-level briefings.
Collaborate with systems, software, test, and reliability engineering teams to mitigate safety risks.
Support verification, validation, and compliance audits (DCMA, Government safety.
