About The Position

SEAKR is seeking an accomplished Space Electronics Systems Engineer to spearhead the design, development, testing, and qualification of mission‑critical electronic subsystems for our next‑generation products. You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, power, and software teams to deliver highly reliable, radiation‑tolerant electronics that meet stringent requirements.

Requirements

  • Education – Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience – 10+ years of systems engineering experience in the space industry, or 4+ years in a senior/lead role.
  • Technical Expertise – Deep knowledge of digital and analog electronics design (mixed‑signal, high‑speed). Proficiency with Requirements Management Environment (RME) tools. Experience with radiation testing (TID, SEE) and mitigation techniques. Skilled in firmware/software integration for embedded microcontrollers/FPGA.
  • Testing & Validation – Proven track record designing and executing electrical, EMI/EMC, thermal vacuum, vibration, and functional test plans. Ability to interpret and apply test data to design improvement.
  • Soft Skills – Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities. Team leadership and mentorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RF processing system architecture and design including testing.
  • Experience with space‑qualified microprocessors or FPGA families.
  • Knowledge of system power calculations throughout a design cycle for space.
  • Prior work with space‑qualifying standards: NASA SP‑3008, ECSS‑E‑ST‑20C, MIL‑STD‑1553, SpaceWire, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Subsystem Architecture & Design – Define and validate the architecture for avionics, payload electronics, power‑distribution units, and environmental control systems. Produce derived specifications, system‑level block diagrams and test plans.
  • Component Selection & Qualification – Evaluate and select commercial or radiation‑hardened components (COTS, rad‑hard) against mission specifications.
  • Hardware Development & Production – Oversee prototype build, assembly, and production‑grade manufacturing.
  • Test & Validation – Design and execute system‑level test plans (electrical, functional, EMI/EMC, vibration, thermal). Analyze test data, generate reports, and drive verification efforts.
  • Systems Integration & Interface Management – Define and maintain electronic interface control documents (ICDs, EID). Coordinate with hardware, power, software, and mechanical teams to resolve cross‑disciplinary interface issues.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management – Produce design specifications, test procedures, and operational manuals. Maintain a living knowledge base for future teams.
  • Communication Skills – Ability to understand mission, translate customer asks into technological solutions, and represent SEAKR in unit sell off and delivery
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration – Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, and foster cross‑functional teamwork.
