About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and hands on experience with SQL Server database management, ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our database systems. This role requires a proactive approach to database administration, with a focus on optimizing database performance and implementing best practices.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in SQL Server database administration (SQL Server 2016 and above).
• Proficient in T SQL programming and query optimization.
• Experience with SQL Server backup and recovery strategies.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and implementation.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues.
• Experience with database migration and upgrade processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10 15 years of experience in SQL Server database administration.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with cloud based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database).
• Experience with database replication and clustering technologies.
• Knowledge of performance tuning tools and techniques.
• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for database automation.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to optimize efficiency.
• Design and implement database security measures to protect sensitive information.
• Collaborate with development teams to support database related application development.
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including indexing and statistics updates.
• Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
• Stay updated with the latest SQL Server features and best practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior DBAs and other team members.
