About the position

As a Software Engineer, Infrastructure at the Browser Company, you’ll create the systems, tools and infrastructure that unlock rich product experiences in Dia as we scale. You'll build the architecture that powers Dia's AI capabilities, enabling our team to prototype and ship innovative browser automation and AI-driven features rapidly. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on different products and surfaces areas across the company — we value mobility and folks getting to work on the problems they’re most interested in.

Responsibilities

  • Scope and spearhead technical projects across client, browser, and OS layers.
  • Support the infrastructure and architecture that enable Dia’s core features—primarily working in Swift, but also flexing into C++ and Chromium.
  • Design APIs that abstract away complexity and empower engineers to iterate quickly.
  • Invest in observability, tooling, stability, and performance—continually improving our AI product infrastructure, deployment systems, release process, and feature flag systems.
  • Contribute directly to the Chromium codebase by participating in engineering rotations, responding to incidents, and supporting major upgrades.
  • Take ownership of key infrastructure areas, serving as the primary point of contact for product engineers on questions of performance and reliability.
  • Regularly participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and efforts to improve engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience leading critical projects or initiatives in client-side or C++ infrastructure environments.
  • Deep hands-on C++ development experience.
  • Experience with Chromium is a plus.
  • Experience working on large, complex codebases and understanding how to improve systems to make them easier to understand, debug, and maintain.
  • Passionate about building tools and systems that make other engineers more productive.
  • Pragmatic, motivated by nebulous problems, and excited to work in a startup environment with quick product validation cycles.
  • Availability for 4+ hours of overlap time with team members in Eastern Time Zone.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefits package with employee medical, dental, and vision, covering 100% of premiums for employees and 90% for dependents.
  • 401k plan.
  • Flexible vacation policy: on average, team members take between 15-20 vacation days plus federal holidays.
  • Remote-friendly working environment with core working hours of 11 AM-2 PM Eastern Time Monday-Friday.
  • 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
  • $1,500 USD home office stipend.
  • Free annual memberships to One Medical, Talkspace, Teladoc, and HealthAdvocate for US-based employees.
