About The Position

Description Senior Sterile Processing Technician at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. This position is Full-Time and will work 8-hour Day shifts. This position will include Call rotations for weeknight and weekend coverage. Within the role of technician, leader, and teacher, the Sterile Processing Technician III demonstrates the technical expertise to practice at the SPD Tech II level, and in addition, assume responsibility for complex instrumentation (i.e. Ortho, Neuro, and/or ENT) maintenance and development in conjunction with the SPD Supervisor, SPD Clinical Manager, Surgery Specialty Techs and/or Surgery Clinical Nurse III. Promotes and improves the quality of unit daily operations, participates in the development of technical practice standards; assists in training and orienting new staff members; and education of SPT I and SPT II regarding instrumentation within designated specialty. Provide for ongoing education regarding designated specialty instrumentation for all SPD staff. Requirements

  • Upon hire: National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
  • Or Upon hire: National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution
  • Or Upon hire: National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
  • 2 years of sterile processing experience in an acute care setting.
  • 2 years of High-Level Disinfection: Experience in High-Level Disinfection or Endoscopy.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework/Training: High-Level Disinfection: Training in decontamination, processing, sterilization, quality control Flexible scope reprocessing.
