About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Study Manager to work on the Perú strategy, leading front-end studies for mining and mineral processing projects, with a strong foundation in process engineering and broad multidisciplinary experience. This role is suited to a senior professional capable of managing studies as investment decision tools, not merely technical exercises. The Study Manager will lead multi-discipline studies from concept through Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility, acting as the single point of accountability and primary interface with the client. This role carries full responsibility for schedule, cost, scope, and change management, ensuring that study outcomes are integrated, credible, and decision-ready. This position plays a key role in shaping the long-term processing strategy and capital investment roadmap for future mineral processing facilities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 15–25+ years of experience in minerals processing and mining projects, with a strong background in process engineering.
  • Experience in major mining projects (over one billion dollars)
  • Demonstrated experience leading Scoping, PFS, and FS studies within an engineering consulting or owner environment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-discipline studies and deliver decision-focused outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of mineral processing circuits; experience with gravity-dominated or specialty minerals is an advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of proficiency in report writing, presentations, and study documentation.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in tin processing plants.
  • Experience working with external technology providers or licensors.
  • Bilingual Spanish / English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage mining and mineral processing studies from Scoping through PFS/FS, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives are met.
  • Act as the single point of contact with the client and overall authority for study execution.
  • Define study strategies, manage critical path schedules, and ensure timely delivery of decision-ready outputs.
  • Lead regular reviews of study progress, budgets, resources, risks, and interfaces, addressing issues proactively.
  • Own the study schedule and cost control, ensuring alignment between scope definition, level of maturity, and estimating accuracy.
  • Work closely with project controls to manage schedule logic, critical path, cost trending, and forecasting.
  • Act as the manager of all disciplines, ensuring clear scope definition, roles, responsibilities, and interfaces across engineering, mining, process, infrastructure, environment, permitting, and economics.
  • Maintain strict scope control, preventing unmanaged scope growth and ensuring alignment with study objectives.
  • Lead change management, assessing the technical, schedule, cost, and business case impacts of changes and supporting informed decision-making with the client.
  • Ensure all approved changes are documented and reflected in study deliverables, estimates, and schedules.
  • Provide senior oversight of process engineering and metallurgical inputs, ensuring assumptions are realistic, consistent, and appropriate for study maturity.
  • Integrate process design with mining, infrastructure, tailings, water, environmental, and permitting inputs.
  • Coordinate internal subject matter experts and external specialists or technology providers.
  • Ensure study solutions are constructible, operable, and executable, with early consideration of brownfield constraints, tie-ins, staging, and ramp-up.
  • Lead integration of technical outputs into CAPEX, OPEX, and economic models.
  • Evaluate alternative development options and trade-offs to maximize project value.
  • Ensure studies clearly articulate value drivers, risks, sensitivities, and capital phasing to support informed investment decisions.
  • Provide strategic input to procurement and contracting strategies at study level, including packaging options, long-lead items, and interfaces with OEMs and technology providers.
  • Ensure alignment between process design decisions, procurement strategy, execution approach, and overall schedule and cost.
  • Maintain a strong client focus, understanding objectives and ensuring study outcomes meet expectations.
  • Lead technical workshops, option selection sessions, and study reviews with clients and internal leadership.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, capable of clearly communicating complex technical and commercial topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support business development activities in a seller–doer capacity, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
  • Ensure study risks, assumptions, and uncertainties are clearly identified, managed, and communicated.
  • Comply with internal quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
  • Support internal and external reviews, audits, and assurance processes.
