About The Position

This position works with all departments to develop and enhance a culture to protect the environment and eliminate injuries and illnesses. This position will lead EHS location compliance including local, state, federal and internal policies/procedures.

Requirements

  • Preferred college degree (or equivalent experience) with 2+ years of progressive experience in the field of expertise or advanced degree with limited experience.
  • Must have and maintain valid driver’s license to transport injured TM’s to nursing office or to the Clinic.
  • Experienced professional position requiring an understanding of broad concepts related to environmental and safety profession.
  • Requires ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments with minimal supervision.
  • The jobsite is a biosecurity environment that requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the work day.
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company.
  • No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species chickens, ducks, or birds.
  • The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with EPA and state environmental requirements including: air, radiation, storm water, hazardous waste, CAFO, SPCC, waste water, and others.
  • Performs inspections/BMP’s in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Operate and manage a wastewater system and drinking water system to ensure compliance with all applicable permits.
  • Obtain a ODEQ Class D Water operator and Wastewater operator license (CVI provided).
  • Ensures OSHA regulatory compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Leads EHS monthly and specialized training.
  • Develop and lead EHS training based on location trends and compliance requirements.
  • Conducts proactive action-based programs to reduce or eliminate work related accidents or injuries.
  • Provide investigations and corrective actions for compliance deficiencies and accidents.
  • Performs job site analysis to determine employee exposures and hazards.
  • Complete all data tracking regarding sustainability.
  • Conduct EHS site visits, audits and process reviews as needed.
  • This person must maintain a comprehensive filing system for documents pertaining to compliance with OSHA, EPA and local requirements.
  • This position will assist in managing facility safety programs including but not limited to: PPE, EAP, respiratory protection, fall protection, etc.
  • Valid Drivers License and clean driving record is required.
