Where You Will Work Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator that produces copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run-of-mine leaching. Requirements

High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
Bachelor's degree in a technical mining related discipline and three (3) years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience.
Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.
Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects.
Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration.
Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

Advanced knowledge of Hydromet operations and process workflows.
Strong background in maintenance and pumping system troubleshooting.
Proven ability to mentor and develop supervisors; leads by example.
Experience creating and managing runtime KPIs to improve performance.

Responsibilities

Ensure continued operations of production shifts through execution of the production plan and schedules.
Provide Operations input for production and maintenance planning.
Ensure adherence to correct safety and operating procedures and compliance with appropriated federal and state laws and regulations.
Inspect assigned work units to ensure schedules and objectives are attained.
Coordinate daily with other Operational and staff areas, including but not limited to Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, and Sales
Directly supervise first-line or shift Supervisors.
Perform other duties as required.
