About The Position

Join a dynamic team of talented and inspired engineers developing new US Army radar systems. This program integrates state-of-the-art sensor technology with existing Army Air and Missile Defense systems. Candidates must possess relevant engineering experience in the development and fielding of Military Ground or Air Defense Systems. The engineer in this role will be part of senior engineering staff supporting the Program Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires – Search, Track, Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) Project Office. Candidates will work closely with government leadership to assist with shaping and directing both current and future engineering concepts to meet warfighter and Army Acquisition objectives in an ever-changing threat landscape. Candidates require strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess new technology integration, and capability and requirements changes. You will interface directly with the Government customer and contractor subject matter experts regularly to: Review new and existing system requirements and corresponding technical data. Develop studies to consider requirements impacts, alternative courses of action, and analyses to reduce risk and facilitate solution down-selection. Facilitate and brief meetings including OEMs, other vendors, foreign military program partners, and USG stakeholders to refine designs, provide guidance to meet requirements, synchronize software and hardware updates, maintain and deconflict schedules, and mitigate integration issues. Analyze test results and brief high-confidence recommendations to the USG. Collaborate and share information with the other disciplines within STARE (software, hardware, labs, etc.) Perform other duties as assigned by government leadership The ideal candidate should be a problem-solver, resourceful, independently motivated and detail oriented, willing to travel occasionally, and work in the office every day. The position requires good time management capabilities, communication skills and computer skills. Relocation: Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or able to relocate to the Huntsville-North Alabama area.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in STEM field. (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, etc.) with 10+ years of experience working with the Department of War Air & Missile Defense systems engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to document complex systems clearly and succinctly
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Possess or be able to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.
  • Able to travel up to 15% of the time.
  • Able to work on site.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarization with DoD systems engineering processes to provide SME expertise to customers on daily basis

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences large or small of varying technical knowledge.
