About The Position

DRS RADA Technologies, a subsidiary of Leonardo DRS, is focused on proprietary radar solutions and legacy avionics systems supporting the defense industry globally. The company is a global pioneer of AESA tactical radars for active military protection, counter-drone applications, critical infrastructure protection, and border surveillance. Job SummaryThis is a fully in-person summer internship located in Germantown, Maryland. We are seeking a rising senior pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics. Interns will work full-time for a minimum of 12 weeks during the summer.   This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Algorithm Engineering team and gain hands-on experience with algorithm development , statistical signal processing, and target tracking filters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Rising senior pursuing an Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics degree 
  • Familiarity and experience writing and debugging MATLAB code
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn 
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and learn about the field of tactical radar
  • Conduct limited scope testing and participate in test events under the supervision of engineers
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather, assemble, and analyze data for engineers
  • Help in research via modeling and simulation efforts in MATLAB
  • Conduct design analysis and/or performance analysis under the supervision of engineers
  • Learn about state estimation, Kalman filtering, and radar waveforms
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
