Senior Technical Program Manager - Hybrid (Seattle, WA)

NordstromSeattle, WA

About The Position

Nordstrom is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to join the MLOps Enablement team. You will be the connective tissue between our engineering team, data science users, Product Managers, Google Cloud, and senior leadership — driving clarity, accountability, and momentum across a complex, multi-team landscape. This is a hands-on program management role: you will run sprints, own the roadmap, track production incidents with Google, coordinate training events, and make sure the right information reaches the right people at the right time. You thrive on structure, love translating ambiguity into action, and bring energy to both technical teams and executive stakeholders. This role operates as a shared TPM resource across Developer Platform teams. In addition to supporting MLOps Enablement, you will be expected to lead and drive common programs that span multiple teams at initiative level. You are comfortable context-switching between workstreams, bringing the same rigor and structure to each team you support, and ensuring no program falls through the cracks when ownership is distributed. This role is offered as hybrid in Seattle, WA. Candidates must be available to work in office at the Nordstrom corporate headquarters a minimum of 4 days/week to be considered for this position.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Technical Program Management or related experience supporting platform, infrastructure, or ML/AI engineering teams
  • Proven track record driving complex, multi-stakeholder programs end-to-end with measurable outcomes
  • Experience managing software development lifecycles (SDLC) and DevOps workflows across cross-functional engineering organizations
  • Hands-on familiarity with cloud platforms — GCP preferred; AWS or Azure also valued — and comfort navigating cloud-native tooling and architecture concepts
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling such as GitHub or GitLab
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex technical topics for both engineering and executive audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships, influence without authority, and drive alignment across organizational levels
  • Experience managing vendor relationships (e.g., Google Cloud) including escalation, SLA accountability, and incident follow-through
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; naturally curious and oriented toward bringing order and forward momentum

Responsibilities

  • Run agile sprints for the team; own roadmap phasing and sequencing for platform advancements including feature store and AutoML
  • Manage the intake backlog for ad hoc user requests not yet on the roadmap; set and actively manage stakeholder expectations
  • Identify, track, and escalate blockers and risks — including Google product bugs — with clear articulation of user impact; synthesize into leadership updates and storytelling
  • Own KPI dashboards tracking platform health and delivery progress; support tooling transitions
  • Keep Confluence documentation current: team pages, runbooks, platform status, and milestone summaries
  • Lead roadshows and demos of new platform capabilities to internal users and stakeholders across Nordstrom
  • Coordinate Google-led training events end-to-end: attendee management, logistics, expectations-setting, and capturing post-event insights and next steps
  • Own the weekly Google incident review cadence: track production issues, drive Google to timeline commitments, and distinguish short-term bandage fixes from long-term resolutions
  • Facilitate ongoing stakeholder syncs; serve as a key communication partner for cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Partner closely with the Product Manager to align platform roadmap priorities, translate engineering capabilities into product narratives, and ensure cohesive delivery across technical and product workstreams
  • Share program management responsibility across Standard Pipeline and Cloud Engineering teams — providing consistent sprint cadence, cross-team dependency tracking, and unified status reporting as a shared service across Developer Platform
