About The Position

Microsoft Hardware and Infrastructure Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) is the team that owns and delivers on all aspects related to Cloud Manufacturing for Microsoft’s Azure Cloud. The organization is responsible from end to end manufacturing quality and infrastructure – which means supporting and resolving issues for incoming hardware, deployment and sustenance of the fleet. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide and we are looking for a passionate Senior Technical Program Manager to help achieve that mission.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR 12+ years relevant technical engineering experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include,but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • 7 - 10+ years in the server hardware industry.
  • Working knowledge of disciplines across data center and server/rack hardware quality.
  • Ability to work on issues that span geos and provide clear/aligned communication to stakeholders.
  • Ability to write/run Kusto/SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Experience working in the end-to-end server hardware quality space from system integrators to data center operations.
  • Experience with hardware, firmware, software interfaces across all modules in a system.

Responsibilities

  • Owning/executing critical hardware remediations along the end-to-end hardware manufacturing spectrum working with stakeholders from supply chain, DC operations, capacity management and engineering groups.
  • Ability to influence partners, make key decisions pertaining to hardware quality escapes and develop a systematic mitigation plan to resolve quality issues.
  • Identifying opportunities and tools that allow a reduction of manual work and automate process workflows including prior work with agentic AI.
  • Ability to perform cost/time/risk tradeoff analysis while being customer centric and budget conscious.
  • Partner with leadership and teams to create an inclusive environment that attracts and retains engineers.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to help derive insights and drive business decisions.
