As a Senior Technology Engineer within PNC's C&IB organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX. As a Senior Technology Engineer, you will play a key role in leading and governing enterprise-level Digital Identity development initiatives within an Agile development environment. This position involves designing and supporting Java-based applications utilizing Microservices architecture and RESTful APIs, while ensuring alignment with modern security standards and compliance requirements. Leads in the development of the most complex new and emerging technologies and selects appropriate platforms, integrates and configures solutions. Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions. Develops software components and hardware for new and emerging technology projects; aligns these with business strategies and objectives. Consults junior staff regarding complex issues and best practices. Provides a systematic analysis on the most complex client requirements within the traceability framework and resolves any functional problems encountered. Oversees the quality of complex project deliverables while ensuring that they are in compliance with relevant standards and processes. Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
Specific certifications are often required.
In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Expertise in building and maintaining Spring Boot microservices

Responsibilities

Contribute to software development efforts across project lifecycles, including new development and maintenance of existing applications
Collaborate with solution architects to design physical architectures and propose software solutions that address complex business challenges
Partner with Agile project teams to assess feasibility of requirements and provide technical guidance
Analyze implementation impacts and associated risks to ensure robust and scalable solutions
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical and procedural documentation
Review code, testing artifacts, and documentation produced by peers to ensure quality and consistency
Support deployment activities across development, testing, and production environments
Apply modern engineering principles, methodologies, and tools to enhance business capabilities
Provide governance and oversight of solution design across development and engineering teams
Continuously evaluate industry best practices and contribute to internal standards and frameworks
Lead and influence adherence to technical design and development standards across teams
