About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Trade Compliance Manager (Remote). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring trade compliance across multiple business units, focusing on inbound and outbound shipments. Your expertise will be vital in driving business results and implementing best practices through collaboration with various functional leaders. You will develop and enhance tools and processes for continuous improvement while providing day-to-day support for trade compliance activities. Your efforts will ensure that all products are properly classified and compliant with international regulations.

Requirements

  • Broad experience with Customs regulations and communications.
  • Minimum of 5 years in trade compliance with expertise in customs regulations.
  • Preferred educational background in Business Administration or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of international trade laws and customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in conducting internal audits.
  • Experience with customs entry and export/import software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Understanding of Canada Border Services Agency operational requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude in data manipulation using Excel and ERP systems.
  • Team player with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support business needs relating to CARM and SWI initiatives.
  • Manage process of qualifying finished goods and components to various free trade agreements.
  • Support audits by government agencies regarding import and export activities.
  • Assist in maintaining the Import and Export Compliance Manual.
  • Collaborate with brokers for post summary corrections with the customs agency.
  • Determine application of Participating Government Agency regulations for applicable imports.
  • Drive efficiency in the trade compliance program and respond to identified issues.
  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping of all trade transactions.
  • Conduct compliance audits of trade activities and documentation.
  • Produce training materials and conduct compliance training for stakeholders.
  • Promote transparency and best practices in compliance processes.
  • Assist with problems related to import/export transactions.
  • Be responsible for other assigned duties.
