GAI is seeking a Transmission Senior Project Engineer 2 to join our Power Delivery team. Required skills include transmission line design experience, critical thinking, problem solving, organization, team-focus, and eagerness to apply learned engineering principles to solve real life problems. The Transmission Senior Project Engineer 2 is responsible for technical leadership and the successful delivery of transmission line designs while maintaining the scope, schedule, budget, and quality of projects within GAI’s Transmission & Distribution Division. This individual should be technically focused and a strong leader with developed technical, communication, and computer skills. Competency Knowledge of electric utility transmission line engineering and design. Job Responsibilities: Complete day-to-day project tasks as required for successful project delivery. Tasks may include: Preparation of Specification Packages Preparation of Structural and Fabrication Drawings Design and Analysis of Transmission Lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-Tower is a bonus Design and Analysis of foundations. Analysis of existing and proposed structures with regard to Client and Other required codes, standards, and specifications. Performance of Electrical Clearance checks and calculations. Apply engineering principles to assist in the design of Power Delivery Projects. Must demonstrate attention to detail. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Perform complex tasks typically following established processes. Implements effective engineering methods, provides technical guidance, and acts as a resource for engineers and designers. Directly manages projects with no limit to the number or value of individual projects managed. Assist in quality control and quality assurance of active projects, providing peer and final reviews and training of engineers and designers in quality control processes. Leads projects with complex features with work performed directly, or by others. Integrates engineering economics and risk analysis into the solutions of complex engineering problems.
