About The Position

The ARA Transportation Division is seeking an experienced transportation research analyst and project manager for a full-time position in Baton Rouge, LA; Madison, WI; or Mechanicsburg, PA. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with autonomy and leadership, and who enjoys solving complex problems. You will be actively involved in all aspects of the consulting research profession, which includes problem solving, using subject matter knowledge and innovation to offer quality solutions to our clients, marketing to bring in new business, and writing high-quality proposals. With this position comes a high level of freedom to be innovative and self-directed along with an ability to pursue projects and tasks that are interesting and meaningful. At the same time, candidates must be able to work as a member of an integrated team and exhibit a collegial and professional demeanor towards colleagues and external stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil/transportation engineering, construction management, urban planning, business, or public administration.
  • 8+ years of industry experience, to include:
  • Transportation planning research and technology deployment for US DOT, state transportation agencies, and/or transit agencies.
  • Expertise in asset management, innovation and research management, business process improvement, and public policy.
  • Proven record of successful business development and project management.
  • Experience with project management tools and scheduling programs.

Responsibilities

  • Work toward or maintain industry status as a subject matter expert.
  • Perform and lead project work in one or more areas related to transportation innovation and research management.
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts.
  • Develop winning proposals in response to RFPs.
  • Present research and information at conferences, training courses, industry meetings, department meetings, client meetings, etc.
