About The Position

We are seeking a talented UX Designer to join our growing team of designers, researchers, and writers supporting federal government clients. You will collaborate with Agile product teams to design and deliver software products that are useful, usable, beautiful, and intuitive. Your human-centered approach will help you understand and advocate for users—whether they are members of the public, federal employees, or policymakers—ensuring that the solutions you design help government work better for everyone. Job Location: This position requires that the job be performed in the United States. If you accept this position, you should note that ICF does monitor employee work locations blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses and also prohibits personal VPN connections.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of applied UX design experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with Tableau
  • 2+ years of experience working in a data visualization team
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • US Citizenship is required by the federal government for this position
  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.), as this work is for a federal contract and laws do apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Able to provide a portfolio demonstrating a strong design process and deliverables, including UX, UI, interaction, visual, and/or content designs applied to software development.
  • Experience working in or with the federal government.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and with remote/distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508).
  • Experience with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Sketch.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with UX leadership, product owners, and researchers to implement a UX vision and strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Build empathy with users by participating in research, leading participatory design, and consuming insights to develop validated UX designs.
  • Ideate individually and with teams to discover and develop user experiences that solve the most important problems.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to describe, communicate, and test proposed user experiences.
  • Work with quality assurance and development teams to ensure user experiences are implemented successfully.
  • Clearly communicate the design process and rationale to internal and external stakeholders, advocating for users and clarifying design decisions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to the iterative improvement of your project’s user experience.
  • Ensure designs are accessible, visually appealing, and easy to use, following design systems, style guides, and industry best practices.
