YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of the Senior Venture Capital Director are to:

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Life Science relevant topics for Venture-specific technology (PhD/MD strongly preferred);
  • Board experience (as board director or observer);
  • Track record of successfully leading long-term projects;
  • Experience in the evaluation of early technologies and a sound understanding of the investment space;
  • Strong leadership skills, entrepreneurship, and ambition;
  • Ability to interface startup-like realities of the Ventures to the realities of a big corporation (reports, deadlines, etc.);
  • Excellent problem-solving ability;
  • Proven ability to lead and thrive in complex, often ambiguous situations.

Nice To Haves

  • At least three years in Venture Capital

Responsibilities

  • Investment Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop rationale and business cases for investing in selected technologies;
  • Develop a network and follow scientific and technological developments in selected areas (e.g., autoimmune, oncology, Neuroscience, Cardiometabolic etc.);
  • Conduct due diligence and support deal execution.
  • Portfolio Management:
  • Support the governance, day-to-day management, performance management, and strategic decisions of the portfolio companies (PortCos);
  • Support the PortCos in operations where applicable;
  • Monitor and report the progress of PortCos;
  • Prepare and facilitate venture milestones; review and make recommendations on go/no-go decision points.
