About The Position

Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center is one of the largest community health centers in Massachusetts serving Worcester, Framingham, Milford and the surrounding communities. We are a thriving and growing organization, and our team is expanding across sites to support this growth. We are hiring for a Senior Vice President of Development, this position will serve as a key leadership team member and an active participant in strategic decisions affecting Kennedy Community Health. In partnership with the CEO, this position is responsible for major gift solicitation, fundraising, grant development and maintenance. The Senior Vice President of Development will lead a comprehensive strategy to build external partnerships and expand philanthropic support, including major gifts, grants, special events, and corporate, individual, and foundation funding. This role will develop the infrastructure needed to grow Kennedy Community Health’s budget, diversify the donor pipeline, secure funding for new initiatives, and partner closely with internal teams and the Board of Directors to advance active fundraising goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a nonprofit development or fundraising role.
  • Track record of growing and maintaining donor relationships over time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence donors.
  • Flexible, hands-on leader who can support both strategy and day-to-day fundraising efforts.
  • High energy with a genuine passion for the organization’s mission.
  • Ability to create and carry out an annual fundraising and development plan.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all fundraising efforts in partnership with the President/CEO, senior leadership, and Board.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising and financial strategy, including corporate, foundation, and government grants.
  • Oversee development and management of all funding proposals with a long-term relationship focus.
  • Track, analyze, and report donor and fundraising data to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Build and lead donor stewardship efforts to strengthen and grow relationships.
  • Monitor progress of the development program and ensure timely reporting and compliance for all grants.
  • Recruit, mentor, and supervise the advancement team.
  • Collaborate with the Senior VP of External Affairs on prioritized events.
