About The Position

You will collaborate closely with various leaders to define best practices and drive significant improvements in quality and operational efficiency, ensuring a seamless development experience. Your expertise will guide the transition to innovative architectures, ultimately transforming how software is developed globally.

Requirements

Proven experience leading large-scale engineering organizations.
Deep understanding of world-scale service operations with a focus on quality.
Expertise in modern software architectures and major architectural transitions.
Hands-on leadership style with technical engagement in code and design.
Proficiency in AI-assisted development and tooling.
Experience with cost-conscious engineering decisions and performance optimization.
Ability to influence stakeholders across functional teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the new Engineering, Architecture and Transformation pillar as part of the ELT.
Drive the definition and improvement of engineering best practices across teams.
Champion the internal use of GitLab's tools and unblock teams for faster delivery.
Define and guide the transition to next-generation, AI-optimized architecture.
Establish and lead the Architecture, Quality and Engineering Excellence team.
Collaborate with senior leaders to address systemic horizontal challenges.
Promote a culture of engineering excellence aligned with operational efficiency.
