About the position

The Sports Sponsorship Marketing SVP is to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of critical projects related to our role as a Proud Supporter of LA28 and Team USA. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and successful execution of key initiatives, contributing to the overall success of the Games. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional marketing strategy acumen, a deep understanding of marketing and licensed properties, experience in accountability for developing and delivering ROI in partnerships. This includes a proven track record of delivering high-profile projects within tight deadlines and successful outcomes against KPI's and familiarity with sports/experiential campaign analytics and measurement.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for our LA28 and Team USA partnership, aligning with overall business objectives and stakeholder needs, inclusive of B2B strategy, B2C strategy, creative, and digital marketing.
  • Demonstrate the financial acumen and analytical skills necessary to review marketing data and evaluate profitability and implement and adjust strategies as needed to achieve financial targets.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute project deliverables, ensuring alignment with overall Olympic Games objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure adherence to established project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including USOPP, agencies, vendors, and community partners.
  • Manage athlete agreements and partnerships.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of project goals and expectations.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee the logistical planning and execution of assigned projects, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to manage resources, equipment, and personnel.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential disruptions and ensure operational continuity.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and cost control.
  • Track project expenditures and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
  • Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and risk assessments.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Manage and execute contractual assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and management roles, experience with sports and entertainment industry preferred.
  • Strong preference for direct experience leading a brand through an Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Passion for the sports marketing, in particular passion for Team USA and the Olympic and Paralympic Games and its values.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering high-profile projects within tight deadlines and budget constraints, and measuring and optimizing marketing investment ROI.
  • Ability to create a KPI measurement plan for sponsorships, analyze campaign data against these KPI's, identify insights and create clear reporting.
  • Experience working with large scale sporting events is highly desirable.
  • Experience with licensed music, licensed content, and talent agreements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of marketing campaigns and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work long and sometimes irregular hours.
  • Results oriented with a track record of achieving campaign goals.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with and present to executive management.
  • Financial Services and/or mortgage industry sponsorship experience preferred (or general experience working with major sponsorships particularly in sports).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong collaborative, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a problem-solving mentality.
  • Proven people management skills.
