About The Position

The Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Vice President, Transportation Planning Manager for Idaho, based in the WSP Boise office . This is a part-time benefits ineligible role, working a variable schedule, as we continue to strengthen and grow our transportation planning practice locally. Your Impact Facilitate and lead local client coordination, such as with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS), and cities within the Southwest Idaho Region. Support building a pipeline of opportunities aligned with our technical strengths by identifying, tracking, and positioning for upcoming opportunities across state, local, and regional agencies. Conduct regular client outreach meetings, listening sessions, and pre‑positioning conversations. Serve as a trusted point of contact for Idaho clients to understand upcoming needs and challenges. Contribute to proposal strategy, strategic partners and teaming discussions, content and win-theme development, and technical narratives for opportunities within Idaho. Maintain strong awareness of Idaho legislative and policy changes, funding programs, market trends and emerging infrastructure priorities to enhance competitiveness. Support WSP’s visibility in Idaho through attendance at local industry events and professional associations. Serve as senior advisor, principal-in-charge, or senior reviewer for transportation projects and planning studies. Who You Are

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistence, and growth.
  • Strongly established client relationships and industry contacts in Idaho.
  • Ability to support pursuits and proposals.
  • Ability to innovate and re-think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Sound decision-making, strong communication skills, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities.
  • Commitment to internal and external client service.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Essential professional licensure/certification.
